I’m Helen and I have been a parent governor and now a co-opted governor for seven years. Previously I was vice chair for two years during which time the Trust was established.
Last year I was chair of the combined local governing body for Tyntesfield and Bollin Primary Schools. From September 2019, we have established separate local governing bodies for each school and I continue to chair both. It has been exciting to see the growth and development of both schools through increasing collaboration.
My background is in nursing, working for the NHS as ward sister, however after the birth of my third child I became a full time stay at home mum. My association with Tyntesfield started 13 years ago when my eldest daughter started in nursery. My youngest has now left and I am immensely proud of everything all three of my children have achieved whilst pupils at this school.
For me, it has always been important that school is more than just a place of learning. It’s a community that we can all be part of. Support and friendship are key and are exemplified by both Tyntesfield and Bollin schools.
