My name is Chris Brindley and I was delighted to be asked to be one of the original trustees of Inspiring Learners Multi Academy Trust last year. I have a keen interest in education and am also a Co-opted Governor of Sale Grammar School.
Professionally, I am a Senior Producer/Senior Journalist for BBC News. For the last 9 years I have mainly worked for national news at BBC Radio 5 live, but I also had a period as the Deputy Editor of BBC Radio Manchester. I am used to leading teams, overseeing big projects and holding people/organisations to account. I have worked on organising coverage of everything from General Elections to Brexit to the Olympics. I started out as a reporter, so have also worked closely with many communities across the country on all sorts of stories from politics to education.
I really believe it is important that we help all the children in our schools reach their potential academically as well as be happy rounded people. The schools have a fantastic and inspirational Executive Head in Kylie Spark who puts the pupils at the centre of everything she does.
I live in Trafford, have 2 children, (with 1 more on the way) the eldest of which starts primary school this year (2018).
